Sir Stephen Tindall Visits NZAero to Discuss the Future of Clean Aviation

Jul 14, 2025

Earlier this week, NZAero had the pleasure of welcoming Sir Stephen Tindall to our headquarters here in Hamilton. The visit, which included a full tour of our facility, a flight, and in-depth discussions with our leadership team, centred around one of the most critical topics facing the aerospace industry today: the transition to clean energy, and specifically, the role of hydrogen as a viable alternative to fossil fuels.

As a passionate advocate for NZ companies, sustainability and innovation, Sir Stephen’s interest in clean aviation aligns with NZAero’s ongoing R&D efforts into next-generation aircraft and emissions-free propulsion systems.

Sir Stephen remarked “Thanks so much for hosting [us], we were both really impressed with your whole NZAero set up. Congratulations on what you are achieving, it is most impressive” His visit was both encouraging and energising for our team, reinforcing the importance of collaboration, leadership, and bold thinking as we shape the future of flight.

“We were thrilled to host Sir Stephen and share our work in clean aviation, and to better understand our role in shaping the NZ Hydrogen Fuel eco-system” said Dana Goodwin, GM Design. “These conversations are vital as we move toward a greener future for New Zealand aerospace.”

NZAero remains committed to developing innovative solutions that can drive meaningful change in the aviation sector — not just for New Zealand, but for the world.
